Sally's Apple Chutney

YOU WILL NEED:
- 1.kgs of cooking apples peeled and diced
- 250g light muscovado sugar
- 125g raisins
- 125g chopped dates
- 2 medium onions finely chopped
- 3 small dried chillies
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp salt
- 500ml apple cider vinegar
METHOD:
- Prepare the ingredients: Gather all the ingredients you need.
- Combine ingredients: Place all the ingredients in a large, heavy saucepan.
- Start cooking: Set the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Simmer: Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered. Stir frequently to prevent sticking or burning.
- Cook until thick: Continue simmering for 30-40 minutes, or until the mixture becomes thick and pulpy.
- Remove from heat: Once the desired consistency is reached, take the saucepan off the heat.
- Cool the mixture: Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Transfer to jars: Pour the cooled mixture into sterilized, clean, and dry jars.
- Seal the jars: Seal the jars tightly to preserve the contents.
