Mulled White Wine

30 MIN • SERVES 4

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 700ml bottle of Riesling
  • 100ml Lemon RamTang’
  • 150ml orange juice
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 1 whole orange, studded with 6 cloves
  • 2 small cinnamon sticks
  • 10 whole allspice berries
  • 3 crushed cardamom pods

METHOD:

  1. Combine the ingredients: In a large saucepan, add the Riesling, Lemon RamTang’, orange juice, and granulated sugar.
  2. Add the spices: Place the studded orange, cinnamon sticks, allspice berries, and crushed cardamom pods into the mixture.
  3. Simmer: Heat the mixture on very low heat, stirring occasionally for 20-25 minutes. Do not let it boil, just let it simmer to blend the flavours.
  4. Serve: Pour into heat-proof glass mugs and garnish with blood orange slices (if in season) or regular orange slices and a small cinnamon stick. For an extra kick, add a small splash of Lemon RamTang’ on top.
