RamTang' Mezcalita

YOU WILL NEED:

What You’ll Need:

  • 50ml mezcal (or tequila if you prefer)
  • 30ml Lime RamTang’
  • 20ml hibiscus syrup (homemade or shop-bought)
  • ¼ lime wedge, squeezed on top
  • Ice cubes

For the Rim:

  • 15g dried hibiscus flowers
  • 4 tsp demerara sugar
  • 1 tsp rock salt

For the syrup:

  • 1 cup hibiscus flowers dried
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 cupswater
  • 1 piece (inch) fresh ginger

METHOD:

Prepare the Hibiscus Syrup:

  • Combine all syrup ingredients in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 mins.
  • Let cool completely before straining.

Make the Rim Mix:

  • Combine dried hibiscus flowers, demerara sugar, and rock salt in a mortar and pestle or spice grinder.
  • Pour the mix onto a plate. Lightly wet the rim of your glass with water, then dip it into the mixture to coat.

Mix the Cocktail:

  • In a shaker filled with ice, combine mezcal, Lime RamTang’, and hibiscus syrup. Shake well until chilled.
  • Strain into your rimmed RamTang’ glass over fresh ice.
  • Squeeze a quarter lime wedge on top for a fresh citrus hit.
